The following INITs appear to interfere with AppMaker:
1. Switch-A-Roo FKEY (freeware from Bill Steinberg, version 1.6?)
2. Application Menu (freeware from Larry Rosenstein at Apple)
3. Hierarchical Apple Menus (HAM, from MicroSeeds)
4. Word Finder 4.0.2 (cdev from Microlytics)
Symptoms: "Sorry, OS Error -109" (Handle was NIL in HandleZone or other); new dialog doesn't have OK or Cancel buttons; dismissing an AppMaker "choose PICT dialog"
5. FolderBolt 1.02 (cdev from Kent-Marsh); crashes (bus err) inside StartGenerate's call to GetNewDialog.
6. HP DeskWriter C chooser device (Extension). MacApp 3 app crashes on Quadra 700 in Fast Mode. (1 report on July 22 '92)
7. WYSIWYG Menus (Now Utilities 3.0) doesn't support Balloon Help. If you have a Font menu with Balloon Help you'll need to disable WYSIWYG Menus before the Balloon Help will be visible.
8. On a SuperMac 19" monitor, AppMaker's Item Info dialog isn't visible. SuperMac's SuperVideo 2.1 control panel's Dialog Centering makes AppMaker's Item Info dialog move to the right and below the monitor's display area (either Center on Monitor or Center on Cursor setting). Workaround: turn Dialog Centering off.
9. MacApp 2 (& 3?) Balloon help problems: menu title help churns between enabled and disabled text, sluggish program response, frequent watch cursor at idle moving mouse. (When built with mabuild -names -debug). Remove CloseView 7.0 from Control Panels folder and restart.
10. While generating code (under System 7.1?), if you put AppMaker into the background and then bring it back to the foreground, AppMaker reports code generation errors. Cause by QT Dialog Power! version 1.0.2, which is part of a collection of utilities called QuickTools™ from Advanced Software, Inc.
11. DiskLight 1.0 & 1.1 (which came with Norton Utilities 1.x) were known to "move memory" when memory should not be moved, which can result in all kinds of problems. One AppMaker user who had DiskLight 2.0 (which comes with Norton Utilities 2.0) reported seeing garbage text in his (Procedural) lists. Sounds like DiskLight 2.0 still has this problem.
12. In the "Create Dialog" dialog in AppMaker, the Name and Title fields contain garbage text, and the palette's picture is not drawn. Caused by MenuChoice version 1.4 (shareware that adds hierarchical menus to the Apple menu) from Kerry Clendinning.
13. On an SE running System 7.1 with a Mobius 25mhz 68030 accelerator installed, a program created with AppMaker crashes with System Error 2 (address error) after turning on Balloon Help, moving the mouse until a balloon appears and then goes away. Caused by Mobius accelerator's INIT, version 4.99.
Unconfirmed:
1. DiskDoubler: not all of Stationery gets read? (user didn't narrow the problem down to just this INIT)
2. Findswell (Plus?): ? (We couldn't find any conflict here)
